OQSO HISTORY
Beginning in 1985, organizational meetings were held in Oklahoma City, Ponca City, and Claremore to establish a guild for quilters across the state of Oklahoma. On March 18, 1986, the first general meeting of the now Oklahoma Quilters' State Organization was held in Oklahoma City. One hundred twenty-five attended and over fifty quilts were displayed.
Everyone is welcome, you do not have to live in OK to attend.

OQSO holds two retreats each year featuring national and local teachers. The national featured teachers in the
past have been Jane Sassaman, Karen Combs, Ellen Anne Eddy, Elsie Campbell, Peggy Barkle, Marsha McCloskey, Flavin Glover, and Debbie Caffrey.
The spring retreat is held on the 4th Friday in March at Sequoyah Lodge, (formerly Western Hills Guest Lodge) in Wagoner, OK.

Each retreat features classes of all skill levels. There are classes, contests, block lotteries, giveaways, and open sewing areas so you can sew on whatever you choose.
There is one business meeting where we share event happenings in OK. We also share the triumphs of our membership.
The membership fee is $15 a calendar year (Jan - Dec). Registration fee is $30.00 per retreat.
Class fees for members teaching are $25.00 for a half day class, $35.00 for a full day class. National teacher class fees are $45.00 for a full day class and $30.00 for half day class.
The OQSO newsletter is sent via e-mail twice a year. The newsletter will be available on this website late January for spring retreat and late July for fall retreat.
